The Stepfords

The Stepfords” are a five-piece rock/country band formed in Sydney in the early 1990s featuring singer Monica McMahon, guitarists Jon Schofield (ex Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls/Messengers), Jim Bowman (ex Ed Kuepper), bassist Clyde Bramley (ex Hoodoo Gurus) and drummer Iain Shedden (ex The Saints, The Jolt (UK),  and current music writer for “The Australian”). They released two albums, ‘Gas, Food and You’ and ‘Stepfords Live’ in the 90’s and have supported acts including The Cruel Sea, Tony Joe White and Paul Kelly as well as performing regularly in and around Sydney. They re-formed after an eight-year lay-off in April 2015 to play the Bat and Ball Hotel in Sydney, the venue where they had a residency for almost two years at the start of their career. (Monica has moved back to Australia from New York/L.A.)
